High Stakes Room Named after Phil Ivey
A new high stakes poker room opened in the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas city center, named after one of the best poker players today.
Every industry has its own way to tribute its’ leading figures. Famous politicians may have a school or a street named after them, Hollywood stars get their own special Star in Hollywood Boulevard. So how do you know that you made it as a poker player? You get a poker room named after you in one of the glamorous resorts in Las Vegas.
Such is Bobby’s room in the Bellagio named after Bobby Baldwin, a professional poker player, who won the 1978 WSOP main event.
And now there is a new poker room in town, named after Phil Ivey who is considered by many to be the best poker player today. With his 7 WSOP golden bracelets and millions won in cash games, there is no doubt that 34 years old Ivey is one of the best players in the world.
The new high stakes poker room opened in the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas city center. The new poker room was launch by a celebrity swarming $1M invitational freeroll tournament. Doyle Brunson, Eli Elezra and many other professional players were spotted in the premises.
Larry Liton, the winner of the tournament, won the $250,000 cash prize and got to play heads up against Ivey itself for an additional $250,000.
