888.com launches the World Poker Crown

888.com launches the World Poker Crown (WPC) - the first global and televised poker tournament that is hosted by 888.com, with a guaranteed prize pool of $3 million and a first prize of $1 million.

WPC will begin on February 20 until May 10. The WPC's final event will take place in Barcelona, Spain. In addition to the first prize winner of $1 million, 888.com offers an attractive prize pool that will be shared by 10% of the players in the WPC. This package may increase the tournament's popularity among novice poker players as well as the professional players. The buy-in for a tournament seat is $1000+$50 but Pacific Poker is also creating online poker satellites with buy-ins as low as $1.10+$10¢. The satellites are giving players a chance to play in the final event. Only eight players will participate in the final event in Barcelona, Spain between May 6 and May 10. The televised final event will air on Sky Sports 2 on May 12.
